Until recently Damian was an Investment Director at EMR Capital. He was closely involved with EMR’s significant investments, including the Kestrel coking coal mine in Australia and the Martabe gold mine in Indonesia.
He is currently an adviser to several Boards and Vice Chairman of the Asia Mining Club.
Prior to joining EMR Capital, Damian co-led Australian mining coverage for Deutsche Bank where he led numerous cross-border M&A and financing transactions for companies including Fortescue, Glencore, Baosteel, EMR Capital, St Barbara, Kidman Resources (acquired by Wesfarmers) and Galaxy Resources (which became Arcadium and was recently acquired by Rio Tinto).
Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Damian worked for BNP Paribas in a similar capacity and commenced his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK.
Damian has extensive strategic advisory and end to end M&A experience. His financing experience includes work across the capital structure and in multiple markets. He has experience with many commodities including coal, iron ore, gold, base metals, uranium and battery materials.
Damian graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Birmingham, UK and is a Chartered Accountant.

Prior to founding Peak in 2013, Niv headed up HC Securities; spent three years growing its capital markets division and worked on the wholesale desk at Macquarie Bank, servicing a wide range of institutional, intermediary and offshore clients. Niv takes an active approach in managing client funds and is passionate about backing strong management teams that deliver shareholder value. Niv’s focus is identifying great companies that are traditionally not offered to retail and institutional investors and sees a large opportunity in assisting Australian companies expand their presence in the North American markets.
Scott joined Haitong International in January 2022 as MD focusing on the Global Energy sector. Scott’s previous work experience includes J.P. Morgan as Head of Regional Commodities equity research in Hong Kong for over 7 years, where he covered many of the Asian energy companies as well as coordinating the regional energy macro views. Scott has also worked for Barclays in Hong Kong and 3 years with Nomura in Dubai, where he was responsible for establishing equity research coverage in the Middle East and leading coverage of Middle East energy, chemicals, power and transport sectors. Before that, Scott worked in Lehman Brothers European Energy equity research team, which was ranked No. 1 in European Institutional Investor (2003-08). Scott started his career at ExxonMobil, where he spent 6 years in a variety of roles in chemicals and natural gas marketing. He has a degree and PhD in Chemistry.
Warren serves on the Board of Gold Royalty Corp in his capacity as Chairman and CEO of Queens Road Capital Investment Ltd.
He is Chairman of the International Advisory Board of Western University and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of Laurentian University.
Warren obtained his B.Sc. in Mining Engineering at Queen’s University and his MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University.
Warren is a resident of Hong Kong, China.

Jimmy has over 20 years’ experience in corporate advisory and investment management in the Metals and Mining and Transition Materials sectors. He has successfully taken control of distressed investments in the gold sector, turning them around from near bankruptcy into positive cash flow generation and profitability. He is the Principal of Virtova Capital, a specialist advisory firm in the energy, metals and mining industry.
Jimmy started his career in Australia as a tax accountant with Ernst & Young, serving energy, metals and mining companies of all sizes before progressing to Corporate Finance with Ernst & Young and then KPMG. During that time, Jimmy worked on numerous assignments assisting companies in the oil and gas, gold, base metals and iron ore sectors encompassing project financing, joint venture partnerships, IPOs, corporate mergers and acquisitions, independent fairness opinions, due diligence investigations and structured investments. From there, Jimmy then moved on to work for JPMorgan where he worked on assignments advising and financing some of the largest mining companies in the world. Prior to Virtova, Jimmy was Managing Director and Sole HKSFC Type 9 License Responsible Officer (RO) of a Beijing-based family office for a prominent Chinese consumer-product entrepreneur and managed a portfolio of investments in Metals and Mining, Agribusiness and Media/Entertainment sectors. Prior to that, Jimmy worked at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for sub-sector coverage within the General Industrials Group.
Jimmy was recently Senior Advisor to Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division in the Asia Pacific region and Senior Advisor to EMR Capital, a leading Energy and Minerals private equity fund. He currently serves as Grant Samuel’s Managing Director in Hong Kong and as a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed metallurgical coal mining company Stanmore Resources Limited (Chairman of its Remuneration and Nomination Committee and a member of its Audit and Risk Management Committee).
Lastly, Jimmy serves as a director of the Asia Mining Club, a non-profit organization with the aim of promoting the mining industry in Asia and providing a platform for club members to access many opportunities through networking, relationship building, business development, and also raising the awareness of the mining and resources sector’s increasingly large economic impact in the Asian financial and investment sector.
He is the Founder and Managing Director of Emerging Markets Capital, an investment firm based in Hong Kong investing primarily in mining exploration equities listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Having spent the majority of his career in Asia, Jorge has founded a number of businesses with Asian Capital doing business in North America. Jorge is the CEO and Founder of Reyna Silver, a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed company with silver exploration projects in Mexico and the US.
Jorge currently serves on the boards of Sierra Madre Gold and Silver and Arabian Shield Resources. He is a former director of Prime Mining and a Director of Garra Esports, a private company looking to build an Esports business in Latin America.
Prior to founding Emerging Markets Capital, Jorge worked for Frontier Securities, a Japanese-owned investment advisory and securities brokerage. He was part of the natural resources investments advisory team, advising and capital raising for mining and infrastructure companies with projects in Mongolia looking for investors in Asia and the Middle East.
Jorge was a founding member of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and a Founder of the Silver Council of Asia.
Jorge holds a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York, an MBA in Finance from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Jorge is fluent in English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese and has passed the level III HSK Chinese Fluency Exam.
Samson has joined the Dutch mining fund Commodity Discovery in 2021 as an analyst, and someone who is in the know of the Chinese mining circle. He has started up his personal newsletter writing ‘The Solidus Investment Newsletter’ since August 2020, sharing the content on Pateron. He was the Senior Metals Analyst at Refinitiv Metals Research for seven years, which enabled him to establish his presence in the Chinese mining industry. Prior to joining Refinitiv, Samson worked for eight years as the Chief Analyst of an asset management firm in Hong Kong, was responsible for managing the company’s portfolio investing in the global mining equities sector and was able to outperform the benchmark during the entire period.
He has been an active contributor on various western & Chinese social media platforms, and a regular guest speaker by industrial events organized by 121 Mining Investment, China International Mining, World Platinum Investment Council, and various Chinese investment banks for their clients. He is being widely followed by global equities and commodities traders through the Twitter platform.
